Virtual Quilting Bee :: May
May 12, 2008
This quilt block is for Courtney. She sent the teal, russet and off white solids and asked us to make a square bordered in the off white. I added two plaids from some of Fatty's repurposed work shirts and the strip of polka dot. I really like this square - I think her quilt is going to be a knock out.
OK - it's Monday. I've got a lot to do. See you later.
I love that one - the work shirt fabric is such a great fit in there. Have a productive Monday!

One of my favorites yet. I love how neat it is and yet it still has an air of improv to it, if that makes any sense. A sort of carefreeness to counter the precision of the shapes and sewing.

LOVE IT ERIN! I am so excited about this quilt. I have those dots too, so I just may add some to my square. And maybe sneak a few of Scott's shirts too. Great idea!

it looks great, erin. I love the repurposed shirts in there, too. Exactly what a quilt should be, in my mind. A little bit of repurposing snuck in there is always so special.
you virtual quilters are really doing some amazing work!

i like teal!! and russet is a clever way to stick with the traditional log cabin 'hearth' centre square and still get a very different effect...
