So far so good

July_14_005_1_1

Yes, I am knitting!  Knitting!  And my wrist is feeling OK.  Not great, but OK.  The first tangled yoke sleeve is on the needles.  I am much further along than in this photo - I am finished with the garter rib, well into the stockinette stitch.  3 more increases to go.  So far so good.  The bonus:  there is a yarn store in Telluride!  I haven't been in yet - just drove by this morning.  I plan on checking it out later today.  Good thing I saw it, too.  I forgot my cable needle at home.

The girls are off on their overnight camp out and in a few minutes I am off to the airport to pick up Fatty.  He's here for the weekend so if I disappear until next week, you'll know I am busy hiking and hanging out with my best friend.  Ta ta for now!

Oh, Tangled Yoke sleeve! Of course!!! I think I should just make that sweater for myself instead of the Tilted Duster. The Tilted Duster is just ... too. LOL.

Have fun with Fatty this weekend, and happy anniversary!! xo

Fatty - almost as bad as my friends nickname - she goes by Bones and her sister goes by Pig. They must love each other to get a way with that.

That yarn is gorgeous. I'm learning to knit right now. It's one of the most challenging and rewarding things I've learned. Gorgeous pictures like yours have inspired me so much!

Tracy

yay! I'm so glad you're knitting! Have fun with Fatty!

Sarah Jackson

Oh yay!! I'm sure you've missed it. That looks an awful lot like a sleeve. I need to pick up my needles again and finish that darned sweater too. Have a great time with Fatty!

Selena

I hope I can one day get past knitting with just two needles. I can't even fathom working on something like a mitten or sleeve.

Sarah

Have you tried rubbing some arnica gel on your wrist a few times a day?

I feel like I spew about arnica all over the internet, but that stuff is pretty amazing for aches, pains and bruises. I have a cyst that keeps coming and going in my wrist, and it definitely helps with that.

Yay for knitting!

And double-yay for extra time with your best friend. Enjoy, enjoy...

amandajean

have fun and enjoy the rest of your vacation!

emily

caroline

Did I count five needles on that sleeve? Five? Really?

beki

Yay! I picked up the speed on my cami last night because I'm ready to move on to a new knitting project.

It sounds like you have a fun weekend ahead of you.

Vanessa

oh enjoy hanging out with your man. sounds like a fantastic weekend ahead.

happy knitting...

leslie

enjoy time. with your best friend.

Annie

Yay! That looks like a project I have on the go. Sadly my ds is always trying to yank at it when I'm knitting so it sits and waits for me to finish from up high.

Sonya

Get ye to the yarn store! Though there are those crazy folks that cable w/out cable needles. Haven't tried it. What I have tried and wanted to tell you as far as your wrist goes is acupuncture. I have had issues with repetitive stress (both caused and exacerbated by knitting)and with only two sessions, I can clearly feel a difference. Anyway, just putting it out there. Have a fabulous kid-free time!

heidi

glad to see you knitting again. hope your wrist keeps up. have a fun time with the hubs.

leslie

ahhh. have a great time with fatty.

tonya

Have you already done the body, or are you starting with the sleeves? I love that tweedy yarn!

Have fun with Fatty (& yarn shopping!)

katie

sounds like fun!
I am glad your wrist is okay. I am dying to see your tangled yolk! dying...

Ellen

Glad you're being able to knit again. Hope your wrist withstands the pattern. Is that a dark brown yarn? What is it called?

blair

have fun!!! sounds heavenly.

Elizabeth

Hooray for knitting. I hope that wrist keeps holding up!
I love your 'round' checklist. What a clever idea to plot out in advance.
Enjoy your quality time.

Girls at overnight camp? Picking up Fatty from the airport? Sounds perfect! I'm heading out for a camping trip with my best friend, too. Sounds like we've got lovely weekends in store!

tiennie

Love the color you picked for tangled yoke!

Katie

Oh....I am such a chicken. I long to knit with double pointed needles. I long to knit something other than a scarf...although I knit a mean scarf.

Is it as scarry as it sounds~knitting with double pointed needles that is?
