Some people call it the carpool line. I think of it as 20 minutes of peace and productivity. Happy Thursday.

I'm with you on that...my mom is the same. In the 70's, during the oil embargo, I was in high school. I spent many hours in our station wagon with my mom waiting our turn to gas up at the pumps. My mom knit several afghans and I did macrame. We thought it was fun!
I work at my kids' school now, so we no longer sit through carpool. But I miss those days! I could always count on having just a little bit of knitting time each afternoon. So peaceful!
Oh, yes! I'm looking forward to those couple of minutes too. These will be my last few months of waiting for the bus before my baby gets his driver's license and flies the coop. :-(
I'm sorry, but WHAT IS the carpool line? I don't think we have those here....do you just sit in your car waiting to pick up your kids? Is there some kind of orderly process? Please enlighten those of us whose kids walk to school. Thanks!
oh, yes! even though my girls aren't in school yet, i do the same thing when they both fall asleep while we're out doing errands. 10 or so minutes of quiet time for me here and there along the way surely are welcomed. like so many others, i always have some sort of handwork w.i.p. stashed on the passenger's seat. i can't wait to see what you are working on. :)

Oh, boy, you wouldn't believe the stuff I've made while sitting in the car waiting on kids or even while driving in traffic! I could get about 8 double crochets at the lights on the way to work way back when! I had a good car workshop set-up and strategy.
I love your perspective. I'm trying to convince myself that my upcoming trip around the world is 26 hours of knitting time, not 26 hours of traveling time.
I have already told you I think about you when I am in my carpool line. I love it! I get to sit there and work on drawings or read a book before evening chaos starts!
Hey there: Your posting prompted me to get my totebags of yarn out again for this new school year of waiting on people. I just blogged about some crochet projects I've done this week and mentioned your carpool busy work, too. (09/18/08 posting). You'll have to stop by and see.

MMm...yes. I am looking forward to that same 20 minutes or so just as soon as we get ourselves back in school. Just a few more days of summer here.

Oh yes, I do many activities while waiting in the carpool line. Reading, homework, knitting, embroidery. My hands just can't keep still that long!

Totally with you, I try to squeak in any creating time I can anywhere I can.

Absolutely, you have to take the time when you can get it. What are you working on?

Couldn't agree more! With my little ones buckled in and waking from naps, it's 20 minutes of knitting/stitching bliss.
