Get ready for Sewing Green

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.  Ours was wonderful with too much candy and lots of good friends.  The girls are off from school today and so far this morning have been reading their new books and puttering around the house.  I am sure we will gear up to do something this afternoon, probably stand on a bench, but otherwise, it promises to be a mellow day.  I like that.

April 12 - easter 074_1_1

Over the past week, I have been thumbing through my copy of Betz White's new book, Sewing Green.  I was really excited to receive my copy of it.  Betz is doing a blog tour similar to Heather Ross's.  She has alread made a few stops and, lucky me, House on Hill Road is one of her final destinations!  I encourage you to check out these posts - Betz has great tips and info to share and look, I see lots of giveaways!

melissa

sign me up for a camera strap, erin!

We love Kate DiCamillo books around here. Annika and I are reading Desperaux again. I think I'm making quilt blocks today and planning one of those beautiful scrappy flower pillows. I, like Melissa, also need a new camera strap. :)

Tracy

sweet! That should be fun!

Caroline

Oh if only I could afford to buy all the sewing books I want ;) I'll add this one to my wishlist!

Just out of curiousity, where do you get the strap material for your camera straps? Like the strap part that actually laces through the camera?

amisha

i am really looking forward to this-- the book looks great!
also very excited about your camera straps. i am hoping that the shop is open in time for me to take one on my may travels :)

i have been reading your blog for a while now, and the recent entries are the ones i am enjoying the most. it is so wonderful to see the human side of people on their blogs...that life is not always a wonderworld of perfect meals, baked goods, sewing, knitting, flowers and la di da. i am sorry for your recent day of struggles, but relieved in a way that other women who seem so perfect on the surface struggle to find balance in their lives, and have bumps in the road too....thank you!

blair

I really hope you are more organized that I was today. It sounds like you are, so that's good. By the way, my camera strap was the hit of the island in Fla.

leslie

you have been a busy blogger while i was gone......off to catch up.

caroline

It was a VERY fun Easter! I went through my shots last night, and the funniest are of Jane sitting on Raike. TOO FUNNY!

Keana

OH, I am having a baby in 101 days, can't wait to see wait you have up your sleeve!

Kelly

I'm stalking your blog for a camera strap, it's goin gto be a bday present to myself!

Grace

I was just going to say, we love Kate DiCamillo, too! Because of Winn Dixie was probably our favorite read-aloud in the last year.

And, I'm just going to put 4/29 on my calendar -- House on Hill Road? Organics for Baby? Givaway? What's not to love about that combination?!!
