Hello February, I've got my eye on you
Tea Leaves

I'm liking February so far

Sweater

I have one sweater blocking.  It should be ready for buttons tonight.  And because I need a portable craft to work on while in the carpool line or music lessons, I cast on another sweater this afternoon.  It, too, is for me.  I debated between a charcoal gray and a medium brown for the main color.  It was a hard decision.  My first instinct was gray, but then I took a look in my closet and I have three gray sweaters and only one brown one.  So, I went for the brown.  It was an uncharacteristic choice, but it is going to look so good with the main contrast color: green.  No surprise there.

Tomorrow I am going to finish quilt top number two.  I am also working on some camera straps for the shop.  There will be a small update sometime next week.  More on that and other news tomorrow.

love the color of your yarn.

Ah yes, the never-ending need for a portable craft. I have to say, knitting definitely has the upperhand when it comes to that.

Erin, have you considered making straps for point and shoots? I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-H20 that could use a little "flare" :)

p.s. I'll be following your progress on your EZ cardigan. A friend and I are doing an EZ cardigan knit-along of sorts in October.

How funny -- I'm a redhead with your same coloring and my closet is FULL of brown, but not a stitch in gray. My husband keeps trying to get me to wear gray -- maybe I'll have to give in at some point!

oh, i've had plenty of brown in my wardrobe, but just not right now.  this year i was inexplicably drawn to gray.  probably because it looks good with black, navy and green!

i seem to be knitting more for myself these days too...hmmm. way to keep those fingers flying!

So happy to see your February posts and watch your progress. I am going to hope that your progress is contagious and that I will be able to get the back pieced for my son's quilt by the weekend. Having it off my list will make both of us happy.

PS. Loved your final comment about the tangled yoke. I've admired that sweater but been on the fence about attempting it.

can't wait to see both of these knits!

Jasmin

Can't wait to see the finished knit.
What else do you make/sale for the shop?

kristyn

okay...you're being way too productive!
I need to bottle your enthusiasm!

Erin, Malaka at Stitch in Dye is knitting the tea leaves cardi in gray an is running out of yarn for the sleeves. Thought you would enjoy that as you were worried too. Do you look at her site, you would like it! Very bright and lots of green too!

Amy

My portable craft is a dishcloth. Maybe I don't spend as much time in the carpool line, since I'm usually running late. Your yarn choice looks lovely!

I love brown, definitely a good choice!

Your other brown sweater is amazing! I can't wait to see how this one turns out. Wish I was having your February!

I love that cardigan, very nice execution. My husband asked why I cut off my face in my sweater photos because everyone already knows what I look like. I said I just cut off my camera head, not my real one ;)

Hey! I'm new to your blog...love the sweater and enjoying looking over your older posts. Especially love seeing a Heine Bros. coffee cup! You must live in my hometown!!!
