Kids Clothing Week Challenge
April 23, 2012
Fabrics chosen by the girls - their buy-in is absolutely necessary if I'm going to do this. Also, my list is a little long and maybe a wee bit ambitious (they are both in a women's xs now), but I'm in. How about you?
I hope to squeeze in a little sewing during 2-week-old baby naps, we'll see how that goes ;)

I'm in too. Doing summer tops and dresses for Kit, along with some shorts for A. I'm trying the new Colette shorts pattern for her. I'll let you know how it goes.

Yes, my girl is big enough that I have to use a women's pattern too. Crazy! Modding a women's pattern for my not-quite-woman should be interesting.

I had thought about doing that, too! I'll be anxious to hear about how it goes.

Loving the fabrics and excited to see how everything turns out!

This is the first time I am out. Moving temporarily to D.C. did not include a sewing machine and fabric. I will be back next time. I love the list. Buy-in is definitely needed. Good luck!

I would love to see the results. We are in the same channel and want to buy the lisette patterns for my 16 year old young lady.
Good luck!!

woahhhh, two tovas! that's so cool you can sew adult patterns for your girls now, seems like the tween years would be hard for handmade-by-mama stuff. happy sewing! :)

so happy to see what sewers with older kids are doing. i was hoping the renfrew in a small size would work for my 11 yo. i also bought the tee for two in the 8-14 size. hadn't thought about tovas or tanks... 6 pair of pajamas??

I know the tovas are a bit crazy, but I'm going to make them sleeveless which should cut down the time, right?

6 pairs of p.j. shirts, assembly line style. I think the cutting will take longer than the sewing!

I need to get on board! I was organizing my non-quilting fabrics yesterday and realized that I have been hoarding the 63" wide Kokka lightweight 85% cotton/15% linen fabric--all purchased with the intention of making pj bottoms for my girls. Their pjs are all capri length now. Not because I made them that way, but because they have been wearing them for so many years!

This is the first time I haven't done KCWC since it launched, and I'm so sad not to have the time! But I'm really looking forward to seeing what you and all the other talented bloggers taking part come up with :)

I think the wiksten tops are a great idea! They are going to be some well dressed young ladies.

I just found your blog and am inspired. You are the first to share my love for peonies. I have been growing them for years and I live in N. Texas! I have 4 grown daughters and wish that I was still a SAHM. But alas, college and weddings brought me back to work. Sigh.
