Tova dress (in a day)
Back in the saddle

To do

January 28

This month is getting away from me! I have done no sewing at all since I finished the Tova dress. I did, however, finish my first painting and start a second one. I'm really liking that. But, back to the sewing....Last year I made a small list of projects that I wanted to tackle for our house and it was good inspiration to get sewing. Also, I loved checking items off the list. Who doesn't? I thought it would be a good idea to jot down what I hope to accomplish this year. As I made the list, it occurred to me that I have all the fabric I need for all of these projects on hand so I really have no excuses. I should just get sewing.

And so, in no particular order of necessity or preference, these are the sewing projects I hope to complete this year.

- Baste, quilt and bind quilt from the Denyse Schmidt workshop I took one weekend last July in Portland.

- Baste, quilt and bind the blue crazy star quilt.

- Make a sleeveless Painted Portrait dress in rayon.

- Make new bedskirts for Kate's two twin beds.

- Sew a shower curtain for the clawfoot tub.

- Sew a table skirt for the round table in the sun room.

- Make a quilt with the Liberty prints I picked up in London last October.

(That pile up in the photograph? Top to bottom: projects three, one and two.)

What do you hope to sew this year?

great list erin, and i remember being so impressed with how much you checked off of last year's list. i know you can do it again! i already completed one of the projects that's been lingering on my list for years- new curtains for our sunroom. next up, replacing the cushions (foam and new covers) for the loveseat in that room. also, finishing that darn quilt that i started 2 years ago! and always, more clothes :)

This IS a great list!
Those colors are right up my alley right now.
I have a toddler who needs some rompers, so after work projects (which keep piling up, quite literally) I need to get going on those, plus I just picked up some Kokka double gauze for the 9-year-old. I hope to finish up a blouse for her before she doesn't want kittens on her clothes.
I also want to get going on some dollies, I bought Storybook Toys for myself, um, I mean Aurora, before Christmas and I haven't even cracked it yet.
Happy Sewing!

oohh. I'm so excited to see your shower curtain, once it's completed. one i've had on my list ever since you posted here about it, is an ironing board cover. mine doesn't fit my large board. of course, my items for my etsy store take priority....sigh!

I have a quilt to make soon, finish a crochet project, and make more artwork. Those things make me happy! :)

oh erin, please post pictures of your shower curtain--i would love a clawfoot tub curtain tutorial. right now we're just making do with two pottery barn shower curtains, but i'd love to make one...but all those button holes-ack!

What a fun list! I am working feverishly to sew a small charity quilt each week in an effort to blow through my stash as well as power through my pile of WIPS. Good luck on your list. I remember swooning over the star quilt and can't wait to see it done!

Great list and I too like to have a list and CHECK THINGS OFF as DONE on said list.

I just read a great idea to use instead of a bedskirt. I am going to do it on my quest bed. You get fabric and attach it to the box spring using a staple gun. quick easy and cost affective. My bed is low and standard bed skirts are always to long.

right now working on sun hats for all of us heading to Hawaii in a couple of weeks to escape Seattle rain. Then I would like to get a couple of skirts done for me and some "Little house" clothes and flannel nighty done for the girl by next fall..
